International certification for employers focused on work–life balance, organizational culture, and workplace sustainability

🔍 What is the Family Friendly Enterprise certification?

The Family Friendly Enterprise certification is an internationally recognized program that supports organizations in creating a work environment that is friendly to families and the balance between professional and personal life. It combines commitment to employees with a strategic vision for sustainable growth.

What you get with us:

Adaptation of the process to the Bulgarian regulatory and organizational environment

We don’t just offer an international model, but one that is aligned with our local reality — from labor legislation to the organizational culture of Bulgarian business. This guarantees full compliance with legal and institutional requirements and eliminates the risk of administrative or procedural inconsistencies. You receive a clearly structured and applicable model that needs no translation — because it already speaks the language of your organization.

Training and accreditation of internal consultants

Your employees will not be just observers in the process — they will become its competent carriers. We provide professional training for internal experts who will be able to implement and sustain Family Friendly principles over time. This ensures autonomy, competence, and long-term internal capacity.

Support and active communication with clients

You are not alone in the process. We work with you side by side — from the initial diagnosis of your organizational environment, through building a specific plan, to implementation and certification. You receive an individualized approach, personal attention, and an expert team that doesn’t just consult but actively supports you in every real question and case.

Transparent and professional execution of the entire process

All stages — from preparation to final assessment — are clearly defined, time-structured, and methodologically grounded. We work according to internationally recognized standards and with full accountability to the client. You know exactly what, when, and how things will happen. No hidden conditions. No unclear phases. Maximum certainty.

✅** European certificate from Ekvilib Institute**

At the end of the process, you will receive not only recognition but also a competitive advantage. The certificate is issued by Ekvilib Institute — an international organization with a strong reputation in sustainable management and social responsibility. This establishes your name as an employer who invests in their people and in the sustainable development of the business.

Business advantages of the Family Friendly approach

📈 You increase the attractiveness of your employer brand

Organizations that demonstrate care for the balance between work and personal life are perceived as modern, responsible, and inspiring. This directly enhances your visibility and competitiveness in the labor market. When candidates choose where to work, emotional reputation is just as important as the financial offer.

🧲 You attract and retain top talents

Highly qualified professionals are not only looking for a paycheck, but for an environment where they can grow and be understood as individuals. The certification positions you as an employer who offers exactly that — sustainability, support, and genuine care. And that means lower turnover, more stable teams, and reduced recruitment costs.

💼 You improve internal culture and satisfaction

When employees feel that their needs and human dignity are valued, they respond with loyalty, engagement, and proactivity. Implementing Family Friendly measures improves not only people’s everyday lives, but also the quality of inter-team communication, productivity, and the work climate.

🌿** You demonstrate social responsibility and sustainability**

In today’s business environment, companies are expected not only to generate profit, but also to contribute to the well-being of society. Family Friendly Enterprise is an ethical and strategic response to that expectation — through real actions that improve the lives of people, their families, and the communities they live in.

Organizations holding the Family Friendly Enterprise certificate demonstrate a long-term commitment to the well-being of their employees. This positions the employer as an ethical and responsible entity that values human capital and applies sustainable management practices.

The certification process encourages open dialogue between employees and management, leading to a better understanding of the team’s needs and expectations. As a result, trust, motivation, and long-term employee engagement with the organization increase.

Organizations work in close collaboration with trained experts and certified consultants who guide them throughout the entire process—from the initial assessment to the final audit. Targeted training is provided to key team members, along with access to methodologies tailored to national legislation and the organization’s specific context.

After successfully completing the certification process, organizations receive an official bilingual certificate (in Bulgarian and English), issued by the Ekvilib Institute—the international holder of the Family Friendly Enterprise brand. This provides recognition and trust both locally and internationally, including among investors, partners, and employees.

How does the Family Friendly Enterprise certification process work?

  • Initiation and administrative onboarding

The process begins with the completion of a participation form and administrative enrollment in the program. An advisor is appointed to support the organization throughout all stages.

  • Training and preparation of the internal team

A working group of 3 to 12 people is formed, balanced in terms of roles and responsibilities (HR, management, trade unions). Trainings and consultations are conducted to prepare the organization to select appropriate measures from the catalog.

  • Self-assessment and analysis

Through a survey, analysis of current practices, and an internal audit, information is gathered about the organizational environment. An analysis is presented, and actions are planned to improve the work-life balance.

  • Obtaining the Basic Certificate

The organization selects and begins implementing at least 10–15 actions from a catalog of over 80 measures. These are tailored to the needs, structure, and maturity of the team. The audit board reviews the progress and issues an initial certificate valid for 6 months.

  • Full certification (3 years)

The plan with the selected measures is implemented in the actual organizational environment. Two annual consultancy visits are conducted, three annual reports are prepared, followed by a final audit and certification by the board. Validity: 3 years.

  • Maintaining full certification

In each subsequent three-year cycle, the organization implements at least one additional new measure while continuing to carry out the existing ones. Monitoring, annual reviews, and a follow-up audit are conducted.
